In March, our Ehuola Ohana Health Project keiki had an amazing opportunity - to visit Moloka'i for a week-long immersion experience. Accompanied by some of our most energetic Roots staff members, 15 children were able to build an imu, plant fruit trees, gather limu, malama lo'i, and learn mo'olelo and wahi pana of Kalaupapa and Moloka'i.
This trip was made possible in part by the generosity of Young Brothers Hawai'i, who provide interisland freight handling and transportation throughout Hawai'i, and offered the Roots Program a reduced shipping rate on the equipment and supplies necessary to make this week-long adventure possible.
Thanks to the kind support of this community partner, our Ehuola kids were able to have an unforgettable experience. Mahalo nui loa, Young Brothers!
