When I found my time being committed to the community of Kalihi, I began to understand the simplicity and overwhelming joy of helping others connect to the land, food, and the living environment. It has enriched my life and the lens I see the world through. I will always be grateful for my time with KKV.
— Christen Oliveira , Roots Intern 2013

Internships

We welcome interns from all walks of life.  Whether you're a university student in public health or dietetics, a high school senior completing your senior project, or a student mentee seeking a host organization, we have opportunities for you.  Interns typically rotate through all of our programs, learning each stage of a healthy and complete food system: gardening, food preparation, communal gathering, and honoring connection to others.

Please contact us if you're interested in becoming a Roots intern.
